Commissioned portraits: Recent work

Below are a selection of recent portraits undertaken in the last couple of years. I work from photographs, preferably taken by myself although I am able to work from clients’ own photos if that is more suitable – Sadly, I am often asked to paint much loved dogs or other animals posthumously. I work very closely with the client throughout:

• Initial discussions to establish the client’s requirements (Medium and Composition options, Fees, Timeframes and Deadlines).
• Visit the subject to gather material, take photos and get a feel for character. Or review existing client photographs to gather suitable material.
• Maintain contact with the client during the painting process and send ‘work in progress’ images as required.
• Final review of finished image with the client.
• Deliver painting in person or by post to meet the deadline.
